Feng Shui = Wind and Water
Qi = The Fabric of Life

First, feng shui is not a religion, a superstition, a form of magic or even wishful thinking. The study of feng shui is concerned with the effect of qi (chee) on our environment, and on ourselves.

Thousands of years ago, wise men in China observed the world around them and found that some areas prospered while others did not. As they considered why this was happening, they developed the study of feng shui...the study of qi as carried on wind and water.

Different types of qi come from different directions, in accordance with the year, month, day and hour. It is attracted by people, buildings, and even garden areas...affected by their orientation and also by time. As it travels it is influenced by the mountains, flatlands, water and other obstacles. These can either strengthen or weaken the qi...and the sum total of all of these things can harbor good or bad tidings for one's fortune, health, and happiness.

Identifying and working with this qi is the job of the feng shui practitioner. Now, more than ever, we need to optimize our homes and offices. The world has become a much more stressful and dangerous place. Lets make the best of what we have by using feng shui to accent the positive and tone down or eliminate the negative.
